I bought a second one for my other car. Well-built cell phone holder, but it does not clamp down enough on the sides with a slim phone such as the LG Xenon. This product gets the job done. I've had no issue with my phone (an Evo 4G) falling out, and I put in my vent and haven't had any issues with the weight pulling it out.
I purchased this for my Droid X. The X fits allowing access to the USB port for charging.
He is on the road a lot and I want his hands on the steering wheel, not his phone! Exactly what I was looking for! He says that's great but he wishes the suction cup was as good as this one. This mount is top quality very versatile.
Not quite sure how to fix that, but it's a huge distraction when the phone pops off after a speed bump/pothole and tumbles to the floor with the charger still attached. However, once you start to expect it, it becomes second nature to push the whole assembly into the vent after moving anything.
I have not had it fall off like some other mounts. I drive a F150 truck so the ride is a bit bumpy but this mount has not failed. I have tried several but the clips were never long enough to reach all the way through to the back of the vane. This worked perfectly. I use this for a nexus s phone in a 2009 Honda fit. I stuck the adhesive disk on the dash and use the suction mount on the disk. Since the grips slide in to hold your phone, it will hold a phone with a skin/case on it with you having to remove the skin/case. The plastic button you push to release the grips feels weak, but it has not yet broken on me yet and I have used it heavily since purchasing last week. After being installed the mount holds my phone at the perfect angle for using the Car Panel app on my phone for navigation and such. Also, this mount is much sturdier than most I have come across- a definite plus as most look like they'll fall apart in short order (and usually do). Again in just 3 months' time it has become apparent that, when sunlight heats up the adhesive and it has the weight of my phone on the mount, the adhesive just doesn't hold. The entire mount and mounting pad has come off my dash once and fallen in the floor.
Thought other consumers should be aware. Thanks for reading. It wouldn't work in my car at all. Finally, the mount holds your phone by gripping the left and right sides of the device.
I only knocked off a star for the vent mount problems but it is a very well-made product that has excellent value. Drive safe everyone!
