The vent mount worked perfectly in my Honda Odyssey. My iPhone fit perfectly.
I drive for a living and I'm in and out of my car all day every day. This little sucker holds up to some major wear and tear. Bought this for my HTC Glacier as I use its GPS instead of my Garmin now (Google maps is just so much faster and more accurate) so I got this to use for that and I'm very happy with it. It's well built, feels really solid and not cheap at all.
I purchased to hold my iPhone 4 in my vehicle. Suction cups holds very well.
The plastic holding "rails," if that's what you want to call them, are adjustable on the bottom of the mount, so that you can move them around according to where a charging or headphone jack is on your product. If that's not enough for you, then you can turn it upside down and the bottom of your product will be completely open.
The suction cup is definitely the way to go. This review covers primarily the vent attachment, as that is all I have used. The whole mount ended up falling off when I was driving. Since then, I have been using the dashboard/windshield suction mount and everything's fine. You don't have to worry about this one falling off like most others. If you have a problem it might be getting it off!
And the best part is that it EASILY fits my Otterbox case. Very hard to find clips that do, so I'd practically give it 5 stars just for that The vent mount attachment works but is a bit wobbly and the vent bounces up on bumps. This is still a bit disappointing, as in my car, mounting it on the windshield puts the phone up fairly high, which is why I wanted the vent mount. If you want a vent mount, I'd look elsewhere. I wanted something that would hold my Droid, which has the hard case around it. This works great. The phone is secure over rough roads and with the case on; I am not worried if it falls in the car. Overall a great value compared to many other universal smartphone car docks.
This also comes with a dash mount (that is 3M) and a vent mount. Many other brands charge extra for different mounts.
It's still not perfect, but it's a very secure mount and worth $15 any day. Original review: When I received the mount, I was quite pleased.
This product is much better than a similar item I recently tried that cost just a few dollars less. This unit fits very well in the vents of the circular mini cooper, No adjustment needed at all Very happy with unit strong spring that holds unit in as well.
